New Floors!

Ted, Mike, and PJ installed new wood floors in our house last weekend. Many, many thanks to Mike and PJ-- we could not have done it without you!!!
The den...or "wine drinking room" as I like to call it. Look how it makes the old kitchen stand out...next on our list? Maybe, maybe...

These are just a few pictures of what Sally has been doing the past few weeks....

She is SOOO close to rolling over...that pesky arm keeps getting in the way!

She continues to LOVE her Baby Bjorn time with Daddy.

She was my shopping buddy last weekend when we went to Affair of the Heart. She's a great shopper, she talked me in to several things that she just had to have!

Sally has found her giggles over the past couple of weeks. Becca is the best at getting big belly giggles! I love my sweet friend Becca for her willingness to sound goofy in an effort to get those sweet laughs! (You might want to fast forward through the first 20 seconds to get to those giggles!)

"Real" Pictures

Since we were in such a state of transition when Sally was born, she never got a chance to have real pictures taken. We have finally had a normal week at home, so we had some professional pictures taken. We had them taken in her 4th of July dress since she was 3 months old on July 2. She did so well during the pictures. She was all smiles for almost the entire session. When the photographer and I could tell that she was finished (due to the glazed over look in her eyes) I picked her up and she promptly spit up all over me then fell asleep! Perfect timing!

4th of July Tulsa Style

Happy Fourth of July! We spent Sally's first fourth of July at home in Tulsa! Gosh, its nice to be in one place!! We had the ninth annual Downing Fourth of July Extravaganza. Thanks to everyone who came out and made it such a great day!!

As usual, my pictures are out of order....so sorry...

Well, its been very crazy around here. We closed on our Dallas house on Monday, June 22! YEA!!! We were so excited to drive back to Tulsa together as a family and start unpacking! Well, we walked into the house to a very unwelcome surprise. Our air conditioning had gone out-- again-- it went out the previous Thursday when Ted was home to meet the movers. So, we spent Monday night at a hotel. Sally seemed to like her first hotel stay! However, our little "vacation" was not so relaxing because I had to FIGHT with the home warranty company. It wasn't pretty. Long story short...stayed at PJ's house Tuesday and Wednesday night and were able to return home Thursday to a "fixed" a/c...We were happily unpacking on Saturday afternoon when we realized that it was getting awfully warm inside...Yup- it was out again. So we had a slumber party at Mike and Libby's (all 5 of us: me, Ted, Sally, Aspen, and Copper). Our new a/c unit arrived Monday morning and it has been nice and cool ever since! We LOVE our new friends at Expert Mechanical-- I am on a first name basis with most of the technicians there. (That story seems much less traumatic now that I am just writing it in the comfort of my cool kitchen.) Sally had a lovely week, actually. Her Grandmums came to town to keep her. They had a great time...Thanks Grandmums! Since then my mom has been in town and we have been a tornado of playing with Sally and setting up the house. I think we're on the right track! Could we have a normal life ahead of us???

Happy First Father's Day, Ted. Sally and I are the luckiest girls in the world to have you in our lives. You are an amazing dad to our little girl. I love you!
