First Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day 2009! What a special first mother's day. We went back to Dallas for a quick weekend. We checked on our Dallas house-- yep, still love it--- nope, it is still not sold! Later we spent some time with some great friends and family. Saturday afternoon Sally got to meet Lisa-- thanks for coming over, Lisa! We went over to Andress and Patrick's new ADORABLE house and Sally visited with them and got to meet Andress's mom and dad. We miss you guys so much and we can't wait until you come up on Memorial Day weekend!! Next we went to BJ's house for a dinner party and caught up with great friends from school. Sally LOVED all the attention and getting to sleep while being held- its her favorite! Sunday started with Einstein Brothers bagels and coffee compliments of my sweet husband.Then we went up to Denton to spend the afternoon with family. We celebrated Jack's 6th birthday and mother's day all together! It was a wonderful weekend.

Happy 6th Birthday, Jack!

This picture does not capture the moment at all. Madison (my young cousin), Rob (my nephew), and Ellyn (my niece) were just precious as they were looking at Sally. They were just mesmerized and so sweet as they watched her drift off to sleep. However, the moment passed before I could get the camera out-- they were all ready to head out the door for birthday cake!


This is Sally's new favorite way to sleep while Ted is holding her. (Turn your head to the side- it s much cuter!)

First Bottle

Sally has passed another milestone-- ok, maybe it was more of a milestone for me. She has had her first bottle. Ted gave it to her last Thursday evening. She was a fan of the bottle. It is clear that she doesn't really care where the food is coming from-- as long as she's eating!

This is a special "Daddy Only" look. She will only laugh like this for Ted.

Great-Granddaddy

Sally had the privilege of meeting her great grandfather on Sunday. Van and Suzy (Grampa and Grandmums) brought Granddaddy and Louise up for lunch. Suzy made an amazing lunch-- brisket, green bean casserole, layered salad, twice baked potatoes, and lemon cake. It was so tasty. It was so special for Sally to get to meet Granddaddy. Sally is named after Ted's grandmother, Grandmums.

It was also so fun for Van and Suzy to get to come up for the afternoon. OKC is so close. Now, if only we could move Dallas a little closer...

New Favorite Shirt

Our good friend, Ilena, gave this onesie to Sally. It looks so cute on her! I'm learning that bold colors look really good with her coloring. We had a small photo shoot in her Sally Claire outfit! Thanks, Ilena-- we love it!!

1 Month Old!

Sally turned 1 month old yesterday, April 30. She is such a big girl now! She has accomplished a lot in her 4 weeks of life...lived in 2 houses, moved across state lines, slept 5 straight hours at night (ok, that was only once, but we'll take what we can get), and made new friends in Tulsa...she's been a busy girl!

We are so blessed to have this angel in our lives.

A Big Saturday

Yesterday was a big day...it was our first weekend in Tulsa. Sally experienced many firsts...

My mom left yesterday. My dad flew up and got her. It was VERY hard to see her go. Sally and I will miss her desperately. She was such a huge help while she was here. Not only was she the best Nana to Sally, but she single-handedly got our house in working order. She organized the kitchen and got the house clean and livable. I was not any help at all. My time was spent with Sally or trying to wrap my mind around the fact that I had just moved to a different state! I am so thankful for my sweet mom. There is nothing that she wouldn't do for us. I hope to be just like her as a mom- she is truly amazing.

After we took Mom and Dad to the airport, Ted, Sally, and I went to Louie's for Sally's first meal out. She did great! She slept straight through lunch. She was a trooper and it was great to be out!

After lunch we went to the Organic Plant and Herb festival in Jenks. It was fun to load Sally up in her stroller and walk around. Main street was closed off and we just wandered from booth to booth looking at pretty plants. It felt NOTHING like Dallas...definitely small town! I think we're going to like this slower, more laid back lifestyle.

Then Sally's umbilical cord fell off---she's growing so quickly! It was more of a milestone than I expected it to be. I'm not too sure that I'm ready for her to grow up so fast! She did enjoy sitting in warm water for her bath time. This girl loves a good warm bath and new hair do! I figure she'll ask for a manicure and pedicure any day now!

Our first Saturday was a success!

Welcome Home!

Sally and I moved to Tulsa to be with Ted on Monday (finally!!). Mom and I packed the car Beverly Hillbilly style and headed north late Monday afternoon. Sally did great in the car. She slept the entire time. We stopped once for her to eat and the only problem was she was too sleepy to even care about eating- this is very rare for Miss Piggy. She is already a great traveler! We have spent the rest of the week getting settled. Ted had our bedroom and Sally's nursery ready to go when we arrived. We still need pictures on the walls, but our necessities are here. We also have a large TV room with a couch and chair. We have very sparse furniture other than those 3 rooms. Becca and Parker saved the day on Tuesday. They arrived with a truck full of furniture that we can use until our furniture arrives. They brought a leather chair and ottoman for the TV room, a patio set so we can have a table and chairs, a chest for a coffee table, an end table, a tv and dvd player for our bedroom (a lifesaver so I can watch the news during Sally's 6am feeding), and FABULOUS food for the week. Becca is one mean cook!! We had pulled pork sandwiches that would rival any gourmet restaurant. Becca and Parker, thanks for making our shell of a house feel like a home!
