She Thinks We're Just Fishin'

One of the highlights of our OKC trip was fishing off of Grandmums and Grampa's dock. Sally caught her first fish!
She loved fishing with her daddy (but doesn't she look hot in this picture??).
"More bread please, Grandmums. Those fish are hungry!"
Patience....
This makes me think of the song "She Thinks We're Just Fishing," and I tear up a little each time I think about it! I love these two!

And-- of course the picture of her prize first fish is on my phone.....

Fun Times in OKC

One HOT weekend in July we went to OKC to spend some time with Grandmums and Grampa. We had such a good time! We woke up early on Saturday morning and headed to the OKC zoo to see the baby elephant. Grandmums knows how to visit the zoo...in a golf cart! We had our very own golf cart and driver. It was wonderful! We loved the baby elephant! She is so cute!
"Wow, your hand is big, Mr. Monkey!"
She's telling us what a monkey says!
Daddy and his girl!
Sally and Grandmums love the zoo!!

Summer Play Date!

One of the joys of summer is having time to have some of our good friends over to play!

Lisa and Will, Jennie and Harper, and Kristen and Ava came over a few weeks ago to let the kids play for the morning and give the mommies a chance to catch up!

(Sally really was having fun...but her happy faces were on the other pics...I got the pick the best of the six or seven takes! Photographing toddlers is a whole new animal!)

4th of July 2011

We had a fabulous 4th with our sweet friends, the Johnson's. Sally asks about Piper and Bash almost daily, so I know it was a highlight of the summer to spend the afternoon with them!

Our silly girls! They really are two peas in a pod!
This was the most normal picture that we took with our camera...oh, two year olds!

Oh man, Sally loves baby Campbell. She thought it was so cool to get to lay on the floor with her two good friends! An action shot of dessert after swimming. I promise Taylor was there. Somehow we never got a picture of her!

What a fun afternoon!

Galveston 2011

Without question, Sally is a beach lover. From the moment we told her where we were going she was over-the-moon excited!

Sweet girl and her daddy!
We went on the ride at the Rainforest Cafe. I love this picture simply due to the look of amazement on Ted's face! Sally really loved the ride, but I think I made her mad taking pictures the whole time!
We shopped on the Strand.

And even had a caramel apple! Yum!
Above all, Sally just wanted to play at the beach.
This was her first trip into the water. She was not scared at all!
Galveston may not have the most beautiful waters in the world, but according to Sally, it was just perfect! Oh, to see the world through the eyes of a two year old!
I was terrified of the foam on the waves when I was little... Glad I didn't rub off on Sally!

We had a wonderful trip. We loved the food, the swimming, and the joy of watching Sally experience something new like this just can't be described!

College Station 2011

We set off for a short vacation last weekend. Ted came up with the great idea to start by going through College Station for a night! We stayed at the LaSalle in Bryan and ate at Cafe Eccell. So yummy! Sally was more than impressed with their strawberry tart!
Sunday morning we met Kim, Scott, Mason, and Hudson at the Bonfire Memorial. The kids were precious as they ran around together. The memorial is so well done.
The future of Aggieland.
I love how carefully Mason is studying the memorial.

After a great visit with the Storys, we were off to spend a few days in Galveston! It was a great start to a wonderful trip!

Just a "little" backyard project...

Ted decided to have a "yard crash" on our backyard this summer. We were never happy with the small concrete pad that served as our patio, so Ted decided to remedy that situation! He has done an amazing job in ridiculous heat! The project is about 70% finished. Come on cooler weather!

**All of these pictures are very out of order and they certainly do not do the project justice!
Some much deserved rest time after a long weekend working outside!
The deck is now finished, but somehow we've been too busy sitting on it to take a picture of the finished product!
Almost an "after" picture.
Ted built a retaining wall in our once very sloped backyard.
In progress...
After he tore out the concrete pad...the dogs were not too pleased with us!
In progress...
In progress...
The before...now, scroll back up and look at that deck! He's done a great job and I can't wait to see the finished product!
