This Evening's Entertainment

So...Sally, Ted and I were playing this evening. We were about to put Sally's pj's on her so she was just wearing her shirt and diaper. She left the room for about two seconds. And returned looking like this:

And some other cute (fully-clothed) pictures from the last few days...
"Yes, Daddy?"
Sitting pretty after church on Sunday.
Sally and her good buddy, Andrew during an early morning coffee date!
Little Miss loves to carry her purse with her. She must always be prepared to do some shopping!

Chatty Sally

Our little chatterbox is cracking us up these days....

Some of Sally's words and sounds at 13 months-

- good girl- used for dogs and sometimes herself. We have her boyfriend, Michael, to thank for this-- so cute!

- peeeeeesss-- she has only used this version of "please" a couple of times. It is very long and high-pitched.

- cack, cack, cack-- you know, the sound a duck makes.

- e, e, e -- the sound a monkey makes. Very high pitched!

- grunts-- this is my personal favorite-- this was the answer to "What does Copper say?" Now squirrels, birds, all dogs and the owl on the Hooter's building make this sound.

- bita, bita, bita-- I'm not real sure what this one means, but I'm pretty sure she's fussing at me what she says it. She only says it when she's tired and doesn't want to do something or when she's been told no on something.

- mena, mena-- Again, not real sure what it means, but I think its begging of some sort...This usually happens in the kitchen near mealtimes...This girl loves to eat! :)

Mother's Day 2010

I have the most wonderful honor of being mommy to this precious girl. I love this sweet little girl more that I ever thought possible.

I had an amazing mother's day weekend. Ted went above and beyond to make it a great weekend for me. He and Sally ran errands and worked on surprises for me all day Saturday! On Sunday I woke up to presents, a yummy breakfast, a fantastic lunch buffet and then Ted chased Sally all afternoon while I watched an entire movie! I can't remember the last time I watched a movie in the afternoon! Sally started a Pandora bracelet for me. She's a very good shopper! Ted got me a gift certificate for a pedicure. I can't wait to use it! I felt pampered and very loved all weekend long! Our sweet girl on the run, as usual!
Talking to Nana on the phone.

Daddy and Sally spent lots of time in her room playing....Where's Sally? There she is!!!
They went to Home Depot and she got a balloon!!!
All dressed up in her super cute dress from Kim....we LOVE it! :)

Zoo Days

We have had so much fun at the zoo lately. We really enjoy eating a picnic lunch and going to see the animals. Sally and I went twice last week! We went by ourselves first and then we went with Kristin, Maggie, Elizabeth and Michael. Unfortunately, we had so much fun with our friends that I forgot to get any pictures!
This bear was awesome! He sat up on this rock and watched all the people come see him!
The big bear had a friend! He was showing off in the background.
Such a cool giraffe!

Sally's other favorite animals were the flamingos. I didn't get any pictures because we were too busy making flamingo noises! Almost all animals make a grunting noise if you ask Sally. Copper has asthma attacks so Sally thinks that dogs grunt instead of bark! We have our work cut out for us!

13 Months

Sally was 13 months old last Tuesday, May 2. Look very closely at the picture above and you can see her molars!

Sally is all toddler these days. Her baby days seem like a distant memory. She is getting very independent. She loves to chase her dogs, play outside, swing, hug her dolls, read books and terrorize things in general! She is still a cuddler when she is sleepy. She talks all the time! She tries to say "good girl" like her friend, Michael. Other than that, the only thing we understand is mama and dada. We are in for it once we can understand her! She's a talkative one!!

Fresh and clean after her bath!

Whew!

It's tiring running after a very active 1 year old! We have been having so much fun lately.
We went to the zoo with our friends, Kristin and Maggie.
We take wagon rides to have dinner with our neighbors.
We visit Nana & PopPop at the hotel when they were in town. (Side note- this is now my favorite picture of Ted and Sally!)
We have friends over to play. The kiddos were so busy playing that I only got action shots! This is our new friend, Keller.
And of course, Sally's boyfriend, Michael. Don't they look guilty?
We put EVERYTHING on our head. Pretty sure this towel had avocados on it.
Where's Sally? is one of our favorite games.

We visited Texas for a very short time.
We ran up and down Nana's driveway. Great...she can run now...
But-- even Super Sally has to sleep. This was during a marathon nap when I was finally brave enough to go in and get a couple of pictures. Notice the two pacifiers...you never know what might happen, you better have a back up paci nearby!

Cupcakes, Birthdays and Easter, Oh My!

What a week! Sally turned 1 on Friday, April 2. We had a wonderful birthday week. We started with a birthday party with Sally's friends in Tulsa.
Her princess chair. I think she might be ok with balloons and a tulle skirt on her high chair all the time!
Her good buddy, Andrew.
Asking her Uncle PJ for advice. I wonder what they're discussing!
Her special birthday cupcake! (I promise the flame wasn't really that big in person- or that close to her head!)
Our sweet friend, Maggie. She had to leave a little early so she missed the group pictures. We love you, precious Maggie!
Sally and her boyfriends: Michael, Cooper, and Andrew.
The crew playing away. Aspen looks bummed to be missing out on the action.
Sweet Cooper and his Mommy, Carolina, drove all the way from OKC. We were so glad they could come!
Sally and her future husband, Michael. Too soon?? I don't think so...he's a keeper! :)
Sally's cupcake tree made by Erika...SOOOO Yummy!!
Then we headed to Denton for a few days. We were able to see some special friends (post coming soon!) and celebrate her birthday with family and friends in Texas. The picture above is Sally cheering on her real birthday.
Her birthday cake at Nana's. Sally's cousin, Jack, chose the cake. He did a great job, didn't he?
Sally was given a very special quilt from a special family friend, Sherry. The quilt is so beautiful and such a special gift.
This time she really got in to her cake! Icing, YUM!
Her most precious Godparents, Andress and Patrick.
A little hide and seek with Daddy!
Who's chasing who here?
To top off her birthday celebrations we went to Jenni's house to celebrate with Ted's side of the family. It was truly the icing on a perfect week/ weekend! Above: Melissa, Jenni and Parker-- such special family!
The crew outside by the pool.
AMAZING cake. It was from Nothing Bundt Cakes. There are no words to describe how incredible this cake was...I can't wait until the next opportunity to have this yummy, yummy treat!
Sally loved this playhouse. She spent at least an hour playing out there!
HEY!
Sally is intently staring at that cake. Smart girl!
And finally a very blustery Easter!

Thank you to our special friends and family for celebrating Sally's birthday with us. What a special week it has been.
